MEFCC Day 1: [ Surreal Feelings ]

The past weekend I went to the Middle East Film & Comic-Con that was held in Dubai. I thought it was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had, if not my favorite. It just felt out of this world.

Now the trip was fantastic if not for all the walking that I've done. I've walked a lot until my ankle felt like it was twisted (fun fact: I twisted my right ankle twice before, so I think that explains it. I think...). But you know what? It was worth it.

Me and my brother arrived to Dubai around 1:40 pm. We spent a while at the airport because we had to buy SIM cards for our phones. (You know, I can't live with my internet and stuff... and calling people. Yeah well their internet is kinda like crap.) We got to the hotel at 2:30 or something and checked in. My brother was hungry and we had no time to rest so I just changed real quick and we left to Emirate Mall. We had lunch at a Japanese restaurant and their food was just so damn good! The chicken buns were awesome! You should all go try it. It's called "Umami" located in the food court.

The first day of the con was just somewhat a soft opening, only for the people who held VIP passes. The halls were big, and at the entrance, they had these big Avengers statues. They were awesome.

(Me in front of the statues.)

They gave us free tote bags that contained lots of awesome stuff. (I personally likes the T-shirt and the notebook. If there's one thing about me that you don't know, is that I used to be obsessed about collecting notebooks).

Marvel stood out this year with their stand. It was awesome with their Iron Man game and the very attractive accurate Captain America cosplay. (Though he was no Chris Evans)

I loved loved love loved LOVED artist alley. Be it comics, manga, realistic, or sculptures and key-chains, it was amazing. I wanted everything from every single one (sadly I was on a budget). They inspired me to go back to drawing fandoms and not just my characters. While I was walking, I found the artist of Tiger & Bunny, and one of my best friends loves the show and loves his art, so I got her an autographed drawing, and when I told him that it was her birthday, he sketched something on the spot, for free! It was just awesome! I just went "Arigatou! uh, KOTETSU-SAN" and he just nodded.

(here he is! he was awesome.)

Then we just walked around and took pictures. I especially liked this shot that I took of a red storm trooper. What's sad is that I didn't take many pictures, not as much as I thought I would, but you know, it's worth it. It'll always be worth it because I lived in the moment.

After that, me and my brother went back to Emirate Mall because we booked for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is awesome, by the way. Oh yeah, I didn't mention that the movie was at 9 pm, and I've been awake since 2 am? Yeah I've slept at the movie, just when (spoiler? kinda) Chris and Scarlett kissed. And everytime The Winter Soldier or (spoiler? kinda if you know about the comics) Bucky appears on screen I just let out a loud sniffle.

Anyhow, that was my first day, and I'll write about my second day tomorrow, in which I hugged my childhood crush.

Introductory

I hope I can actually stick to writing in this blog.

Anyhow, I'll probably write thoughts, rants, maybe movie reviews if I'm in that mood.
